Derick Shackelford
Project Manager
Derick Shackelford is the Project Manager at Earthway Enterprises. Derick started his construction career in high school when he began coursework in the Carpentry/Construction Program at Johnson County Area Technical Vocational School. After two years, he completed the course and was designated a Certified Carpenter. After graduation, Derick worked in the construction industry for six years. In 2000, Derick was the youngest person at the time to take the Certified Lead Carpenter Class through NARI. After the events of 9/11, he was inspired to serve his county and chose to join the army. As a United States Army Ranger in a Reconnaissance and Sniper platoon, he served in both Afghanistan and Iraq. After receiving his Honorable Discharge, Derick came back to Kansas and started work as lead project manager for Earthway Enterprises. In addition to project management, Derick is also a key component in sales, estimating, and scheduling.
When he’s not working, you can usually find Derick at the gym or enjoying the outdoors while training for marathons, triathlons, adventure races and many other competitions.
